Lippie Haul

I kindof get annoyed when people refer to lip products as “lippies”, but I just did it myself so maybe I don’t hate it that much.

Rimmel Lipsticks in Rock n Roll Nude (Right) and Coral Nude (Left)

Rock’n’Roll Nude

Coral Nude

image

I really like both of these lipsticks, especially for the money. Rock’n’Roll nude is def more of my color (more on the pink side) but both are pretty. They also have a slightly sweet scent to them, in case you’re in/not in to that.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul

image

image

image

Soooo…I may be hooked on this formula. I love the way it applies and the coverage! I feel like I need at least 2 more shades. Yes?

Neutrogena Moisture Stick in Sweet Watermelon

image

I picked this up because one of my favorite YouTubers swears by them. To me, this is just mehhhh. A very natural color and super moisturizing, so maybe I’ll wear it to yoga, or camping, or while eating granola.

Treat Jumbo Lip Balm in Confetti Cake

image

I have wanted to try this lip balm for AWHILE now. Kandee Johnson raves about these and uses them basically as an all-over balm. They are like $8 on Amazon and come in AMAZING flaves. They are totally organic and mostly contain coconut oil. The smell is SO good and I love squishing my lips together and just rubbing this all around #TWSS. I have also dabbed this around my eyes and on my cuticles too. I want the marshmallow cream one next!

Kat Von D Lock-It VoxBox

Hey makeup nerds!

I am back with you for one heckuva Vox Box. Like, the Simone Biles of Vox Boxes.

(and no, I am still obsessed with Simone. or any of the other gymnasts for that matter. including the 41-year Uzbeki old one.)

As I have mentioned countless times, I am signed up for Influenster, and so can you. I have no affiliation with them other than the fact that I am a member. Check out their site to learn more because I am not an expert. What I do know, is that they send me cool sh*t. This time it was a box of goodies from Kat Von D! A brand I have never tried before (SHOCKING I KNOW) but always wanted to. Here is what I received as well as my initial, very early thoughts!

image

image

image

The box included:

• Lock-it Concealer Crème in Light 11 Neutral
• Lock-it Concealer Crème in Light 5 Neutral
• Lock-it Setting Powder
• Lock-it Edge Concealer Brush
• Lock-it Setting Powder Brush

Lock-It Concealer Cremes

As of right now, I really love these concealers. Both shades are nice and fair (perfect for my Scandinavian-princess skin) and the packaging is really cute. The wand is a nice angled doe-foot and deposits a good amount of product.

I swatched these both on my hand and then blended them out slightly (pictured below). They blended really nicely and both looked like they had great coverage.

image

image

image

image

Here are a couple shots of me with the lighter concealer on under my eyes with the setting powder (sans mascara in the first one #alienface). Overall, I like this concealer. It may not be as crazy of coverage as say the Mac Pro-long Wear, but I def need to play with it more!

image

image

Lock-It Setting Powder

10 points for packaging on this one, Miss Von D! I also LUURVE that the product is dispensed out of a star! I only used this one time but so far it is an excellent, finely-milled translucent powder!

image

image

image

 Lock-It Concealer Brush

Both brushes are very nice. Super soft too! I usually use my finger to press concealer onto my undereyes but this brush might convert me. I love the slight angle to it and the fact that it is a duo-fiber.

image

image

Lock-It Powder Brush

Can I also get an AMEN for these stiletto-like handles!? This brush is stupid soft and I love the fact that it is tapered at the top. Getting the perfect amount of under-eye setting powder on this brush is so easy and it deposits the product perfectly in that area.

Random Haul + Mini Reviews!

Hello kidlets!

August is officially bumming me out. HOW is summer almost over? I am def NOT ready for fall – not ready for PSLs, not ready for pants and DEF not ready for the election #voteforpedro. The only saving grace this month is the Summer Olympics where I will inevitably stay up until 2 am watching gymnastics because SIMONE BILES.

Anyway. Here is some random crap I have purchased lately. Most things I have used a few times and therefore, will provide a quick review on.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

image

I decided to return the two-pack of Ulta sponges I bought in this haul and go for these ones from Real Techniques instead. I have used this a few times since getting it and it is a close dupe for the Beauty Blender…however, it is still not as good. I really like that it has the flat side, but it just lacks that Beauty Blender BOUNCE (you know what I mean) that I am obsessed with.

Lipsmackers “Tsum Tsum” Lip Balm

image

This Minnie Mouse EOS-esque lip balm from Lip Smackers is absolutely ENORM. I really like the size, because it is SO easy to find in any black-hole purse or backpack. I did leave this in David’s car, in a dashboard compartment so sadly, most of the lipbalm is now stuck in the lid but like whatevs. You know I be scrapin’ it out with my dirty fingernail.

My iBeauty Skin Brush 21

image

image

image

I found this at Marshalls for $7.99 and after doing a quick Google search on it, (and discovering it retails for about $25, I decided to go for it. I am REALLLLLy glad I did because I am truly obsessed with this brush guys. I have used it with BB Creams as well as foundation and both work flawlessly. I especially like to use this with my Nars Sheer Glow because it goes on SO incredibly smoothly.

Essence Lipliner in #11 In the Nude

image

I really like this color! It is PERFECT with Buxom’s White Russian lip gloss but is also pretty on it’s own, as you can see here:

Dermadoctor KP Duty Lotion

image

This seemingly boring product is something I am actually REALLY pumped about. You all know I suffer from keratosis pilaris (or KP, or chicken skin) and I have tried different product to help keep the bumpies under control. After doing some research on the active ingredients I need, I ran across STELLAR reviews on both Ulta and Sephora on this particular product. First of all, it is $38 for 4 ounces. YIKES is right. Waaaaayyyyy to much. But then I compared the prices to some other cheaper options from the drugstore, costing anywhere from $15-$25 and decided to take the plunge and buy the spendy one. So far, it really has made a noticeable difference. I put it on every night before bed on ONLY the areas I need it. I still have the bumps, but the are way less prominent and not red at all. I hate to say it, but I will probs be a life-time user of this stuff.

90’s Night + a Mini-Haul

Ladies and gents! G’Day to you!

A couple of weeks ago, David and I attended a 90’s night at a bar here in Portland. All week, I brainstormed outfit ideas. Do I go the high-waisted-shorts-body-suit-flannel-tied-around-the-waist route (that is TOTALLY back in style, btw) or the yellow plaid pleated skirt with white knee socks ala Cher Horowitz look? I also considered the idea of trying to procure myself a pair of Jncos…

19-jnco-jeans.w245.h368

Then, I really thought about what I really looked like in the 90’s. And who I really idolized. The answer was clear:

anigif_enhanced-17799-1443110149-2

MANDY F***ING MOORE

IN THE CANDY MUSIC VIDEO.

What teenage girl didn’t want EVERYTHING Mandy had in this video? A cool attic room with inflatable furniture, probs purchased from Delias? Spaghetti-strap tank tops? Crazy buns!? Don’t even get me STARTED on the cross-body portable CD player. Pah-REACH.

In the 90’s, I was all about frosted lip-gloss, butterfly clips, matching my eyeshadow to my shirt, glitter, and of course Vanilla Fields perfume. So. I dug through my closet to find the ONE pair of flared jeans I own, threw on some white eyeliner + pink eyeshadow and glitter, and of course crazy buns.

image

David opted for some baggy jeans, Michael Jordan tee and his high school letterman’s jacket #classof99. A backwards cap completed his look but I reallllly wished we had a pukka shell necklace.

image

Then we went over to our friends house to prefunk before we went to the bar and we were the ONLY people who dressed 90’s. Haha, whatever man.

image

We played some pong, I tried a hard orange soda (DELISH) and we ended up having a grrrreat night. True to 90’s fashion, we both danced HARD and got sweaty to hits from Mariah, Spice Girls oh man it was glorious. The only thing that was missing was a few slow dances…I mean the best thing about the 90’s was slow dancing for me. All4One, Boyz2Men, Usher. I know you feel me.

And also – I have a few new things to show ya!

Lime Crime Lipstick in Coquette

image

image

image

I randomly happened upon this at Nordstrom Rack! They only had a few colors and as soon as I saw that they had Coquette, I nabbed an unopened tube. It is super pretty and I mean, the packaging…pink with a sparkly unicorn!? Exsqueeze me?

Cell phone wallet case from ebay

image

This is such a great little case. Kinda squishy and it has 3 credit card slots inside. I ordered it from ebay for $3, free shipping and Buy it Now. You just have to wait a long time because it’s from China. #duh

Victoria’s Secret Rollerball in Victoria

image

Letsbereal. I bought this because of the bow on the bottle and because it was like $3 at the VS annual sale. I tend to go through roller balls quite quickly and my Ariana Grande one is running out so I thought I’d get one. It smells decent, but due to my terrible sinus troubles as of late, I have terrible anosmia so really it could smell like Lady Stetson and I wouldn’t know.

okee that’s all bee bees. BYE.

Morphe Brushes Store Haul

Am I on a role with these hauls, or AM I ON A ROLE WITH THESE HAULS!?

As you all know by now, or maybe not, I went to Disneyland with my BF Dah-vide! And Universal! And I got to stay with THEE world’s most amazing and cutest family everrr.

And on our way back from Disneyland on Sunday, he did me a solid and drove to Morphe Brushes in Burbank, California.

I fell asleep with my frowned mouth open on the way there and about hyperventilated when we pulled up to Morphe. David waited 25 patient minutes in the car for me, as I sleepily shuffled around the store in a daze with like 30 other beauty-obsessed gals as techno music pumped. I was sweaty, nervous, completely overwhelmed and STUPIDLY left my shopping list for which brushes I wanted at home. DOH!

I ended up googling Jaclyn Hill and Manny MUA’s favorites and then just going off feel. Here are the brushes I ended up getting:

M441

image

M433

image

M497

image

E56

imageimage

I also nabbed some individual lashes

image

and these bottom lashes for when I feel like lookin’ like a baby doll.

image

I then picked up a couple of things from L.A Girl on a TOTAL whim:

L.A Girl Velvut Blush Contour Stick in Cuddle and the Glazed Lip Paint in Peony

image

image

Lip Paint on top, Blush Stick on bottom

image

Lip Glaze on me

Annnnnd lastly (drumroll please!) I got the iconic Morphe 350 palette!!!

image

image

image

Like I said, I was totally overwhelmed. If I had an entire afternoon, I would have probably gotten a few more brushes, contemplated the Model in a Bottle setting spray and tried on more of the Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks (I alllmost bought Rose Matter). They DID have the Jeffree Star mint-green skin frost but were sadly sold out of all the other colors, including the shade Ice Cold, which I DESPERATELY want.

GIANT ULTA HAUL

I felt like making the title of this blog post as much like the title of a YouTube video as possible.

image

And SPEAKING of YouTube…I was burying myself in some more weird-ass videos the other day. You guys know how I do. One day it’s people obsessed with those claw machines at Wal-Mart and the next it’s people who pay large sums of money for eerily realistic, anatomically correct silicon baby dolls. These people make videos as if the baby is alive…feeding them, changing their diaper, waking them up from a nap. I was enamored. I still am.

So right – yes – an Ulta haul! I had a $50 gift card from my birthday burning a hole in pocket and I knew I wanted to wait to use it until summer time. No easy feat my friends. Here is what I selected:

L’Oreal  Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum in Medium

image

I decided to give the serum a shot after reading good reviews. I have been a long-time fan of the Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion for it’s good color and easy application but I literally cannot STAND the glitter. This doesn’t seem to have any glitter and I love that it is a quick-dry formula. I will keep you all posted on how I like it!

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist

image

Ulta had a BOGO on these L’oreal self tanners so i decided to pick this one up as well, as I have never tried it before. I find that most aerosol self-tanners yield far less uses than a lotion, gel or mousse, but they are SO easy to use. I plan to try this one out ASAP because I am going on a special trip this weekend ;).

Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk

image

Thank the LORD Ulta started carrying Soap & Glory!!!! I am addicted to so many of their products and when I noticed this product was available online (not sure about in-store) I knew I needed it. I am basically out of the Shiseido Cleansing Fluide that I got several months ago so the timing was perf. I am SO excited about this and I LOVE that it has a pump.

Soap & Glory Body Sprays in Original Pink and Smoothie Star

image

YOU GUYS. I literally peed my pants when I saw these on the Ulta website. Ever since S&G left Sephora and they discontinued their perfume, I have been devastated. NO JOKE I have considered ordering the scent on ebay. So when I saw they were selling body sprays in their addictive, wonderful, unique scents I knew I needed both of them. PLUS they were only $6 a pop and they actually last decently long so I am just OVERJOYED I have these!

Ulta Brand Makeup Blending Sponge Duo

image

I bought these pups on a recommendation from Casey Holmes but then I talked to my sister last week and she said they are NOT good. So they are probs going back because I trust Meggy’s opinion on makeup application tools implicitly.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in Bronzer

image

Ever since Jaclyn Hill RAVED about this bronzer, I knew I had to have it. It went on sale for $8.99 on Ulta.com and I debated whether or not to get the light color, or the bronze color. I am glad I went with the bronze color because it is perfect! It also smells how I think Adriana Lima smells. OMG I am so excited to cover my face with this stuff!

Makeup Revolution Cream Contour Palette

image

image

SO. I have been wanting a cream contour palette for awhile now. I knew I wasn’t going to shell out the money for the Anastasia or Kevin Aucoin one, and after watching TONS of reviews on the NYX, Elf and Makeup Revolution ones respectively, I decided to go with this one. I swatched a few of the colors right away and they are a thinner consistency which is good. I must do more testing to figure out if this is any good and of course, I will let you know!

NYX Nude Matte Eyeshadow in Dance the Tides

image

image

I have been on the hunt for some richer, warm shades as I find they really compliment blue eyes. When I read somewhere that this color was a dupe for Mac’s saddle, I HAD to get it and after one swatch I already know it’s going to be MONEY buffed into the crease.

Free Gift: Redken Beach Envy Samples

image

Dont you just love free things!? I am really pumped to try all these guys, especially the leave-in treatment and beach volume spray.

I also got a Cargo Cosmetics bag filled with deluxe sized samples that I forgot to photograph:(. However, here are some of the products I got:

pT1U5Arr (1)

I haven’t heard the best things about the new Honest skin care line but like, how bad can a hydration mist be?

_10188707

I am SO pumped to try this setting spray with SPF from Coola! I really like this brand and think it’s genius that someone finally came out with a setting spray with SPF.

1003-01677-bliss-btg-hide-glow-sleek-fair-to-md-pdp

The whole “fat girl slim” thing to me is a bit of a hoax. I mean, you can’t get skinnier by spraying a product on your thighs or else the whole world would look like Gigi Hadid. However, I am a big fan of tinted body mists (like Airbrush Legs from Sally Hanson) because I am very, very white.

TAR096-2T

Lastly, I got a sample of this self tanner from Tarte, which I have previously purchased the full size of. I am not a huge fan of this stuff. It has an olive base which doesn’t jive with m’undertones as much a red-based tanner. Nonetheless, I will be using it.

And that’s all she I wrote! Let me know new products YOU have purchased lately!

Wet’n’Wild Lost in the Wildflowers 2016 Collection

Goooooood morning my loves!

This post will involve a bit of a story time on how I procured the items mentioned, as well as my initial thoughts. So let’s get this party started.

Over the past month, I had seen the odd post here or there with these new Wet’n’Wild highlighters and I really thought nothing of it. I thought I would see them pop up at Fred Meyer or Walgreens, much like the new contour palettes and eyeliners they added to the collection. Then I started reading comments and realized that people were going NUTS over these highlighters and that there was a whole limited edition collection accompanying them. And then I got voracious.

Sister Megan was also on the hunt for this collection and had already been every  Walgreens and Fred Meyer store in her area, so I figured I should do the same. I called a few of the Walgreens stores and was not surprisingly answered with much confusion — “You’re looking for what? Well we got Maybelline here.” YEAH. NO.

I decided it prudent to just drive around to all the Walgreens stores and berate the employees until they literally just let me into the stock room myself. The first one proved unfruitful after a helpful young woman assured me there were no Wet’n’Wild boxes in the back and their trucks usually came on Fridays. Next, I hit another Walgreens and Fred Meyer and left empty-handed and discouraged. I decided to try one more Walgreens on my way home (one that I had already called) just to see if maybe they missed it.

I went in and the hot pink haired gal told me she did see a Wet’n’Wild box in the back and that she would go get it for me. I was elated and totally surprised that my relentlessness had paid off! I shot a quick text to Megan and waited patiently for my goodies. But then, something caught my eye. A small glimmer from the bottom of a lowly shelf…Like a tractor beam, I was drawn in and delighted to discover the very collection I was looking so hard for COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED.

I dove in and immediately starting picking up the products and audibly squealing. I called Megan and she joined in. I scooped the ENTIRE display (well not quite, but almost) into a basket and headed to the register where I had to remind the gal that Wet’n’Wild was in fact, BOGO 50% off. I ended up waltzing outta there $30 poorer but rich in loveliness. I had also taken care of Meg’s mothers day present so WIN-WIN!

Here was the final haul:

image

I kept the following products:

Megaglo Multi-Stick in Carnational Anthem

image

image

I also got the color Light Up My High-Biscus, but I allllready can’t find it. But here is a picture of it I pilfered from ebay:

Megaglo Highlighting Powders in Crown of my Canopy and Precious Petals

image

Here I am waiting for the train wearing Precious Petals: #thathighlighttho

image

Coloricon Metallic Liquid Lipstick in My Tulips are Sealed

image

image

Overall I am VERY happy with this collection. All the colors I got are SO ME – peachy and shimmery. They did bring out some deeper, bolder liquid lipsticks but those shades just aren’t m’thang. I am loving the highlighters and can’t wait to slap on the deeper color (Crown of my Canopy) when I have more of a tan.

If you can get yer paws on these babies – DO IT.
