My Favorite Bargains

Greetings and happy almost Halloweenis.

The other day as I took a luxurious 15-minute shower while watching YouTube  favorites videos,(yes I prop my phone in a high corner of my shower it only gets a lil water on it) I realized that so many of my favorite things are not expensive. And that my friends, is worth sharing.

So here we go.

Health & Beauty

Dollar Store Shave Cream – $1

This lotion-like shave cream from Dollar Tree is really amazing and you get 7 ounces for just a buck. I heard about it on TikTok and 100% will be repurchasing.

Tinkle Eyebrow Razors – $4.50 for 6

These handy little razors are great for those rogue eyebrow hairs and also any unwanted fuzz on yer mug. A have done my entire face and did not see that much of a difference, but this tool made it super easy and yeah, they cost about 75 cents apiece.

Eco Lips Lip Balms – $1.99

Yes, they just dropped their holiday collection (candy cane, gingerbread and raspberry truffle!) and these lip balms cannot be beat. They are certified vegan, fair trade and cruelty free, plus they are the smoothest, best quality lip balms out there for under $2 each. Go get you some!

Billie Razors – $9

I have been using Billie razors for over 2 years now (not sponsored btw) and they are just amazing quality razors. Every 2 months, I get 4 razor cartridges shipped to my door for $9 (free shipping) in very minimal, eco-friendly packaging.  Billie recommends using each cartridge for about 7 shaves, but I have gone up to 10-12 with no issues. If you are interested in signing up for a subscription – click here! I promise you will love it!

Earth to Skin Hand Sanitizers – $6.99 for a 6-pack

These little hand sanitizers from Walmart are great and so handy! At 2 ounces, they are twice as big as the ones from Bath & Body Works, but still travel-sized and cost about half as much. The formula smells great, is quick-drying and leaves hands moisturized. My favorite is the watermelon scent.

FOOD & home

Liberty Creek Pinot Grigio – $5.99

I know I talk about my beloved Lib Creek alot on this blog. But you guys. It tastes good and costs $5.99 for a 1.5 liter bottle at Rite Aid. As I was leaving my local Rite Aid at 8 pm the other night, carrying 3 un-bagged bottles of this and nothing else, a lovely woman passed by me in the parking lot and shouted, “that’s my kinda girl!” at me. We stan LC.

Walmart Candles – $3.33

I have tried several of the $3.33 Mainstays candles from Walmart (Mulled Cider is a fave) and this one is top notch! My only complaint with these candles is how quickly they burn down, but hey, they cost less than a pint of Ben & Jerry’s! The notes are “a woody and spicy fragrance that combines a warm blend of fresh black peppercorn, golden birch, Patchouli, smoked guaiac and rich suede accord create a cozy fall cocoon.” It smells so much more expensive than it is!

S.O.S Pads – $3.50 for 18

I know. We’ve entered the territory of some real exciting sh*t! But these are blog-worthy. If your mother has never told you about the wonder of S.O.S pads, allow me. They are basically little steel wool discs with soap built-in and they work AMAZING. I have used them on many things other than dishes, like shower doors, bathroom sinks and the microwave. SO good you guys!

Dollar Tree Sponges – $1

More love from Dollar Tree! If you can find these sponges, pick them up! They are by far my favorite and…you guessed it – they cost a buck. Hat tip to one of my favorite TikTok accounts @vaneamaro91 (a professional housekeeper) for talking about these and giving out THE BEST cleaning tips and tricks.

Mrs. Meyers Multi-Surface Concentrate – $8.99

We have had this bottle of the Mrs. Meyers Honeysuckle Concentrate for over 2 years. We use it as a counter cleaner by mixing 1/4 cup in a gallon of water and pouring it into a spray bottle. I also love it on our hardwood floors,  just a splash in a sink full of warm water does the whole kitchen and it smells amazing. 32 ounces for $9 is highway robbery, I am telling you!

Thanks for reading everyone! And leave any of your recommendations for best bargains below!

Current Favorites

Throwin’ it back to 2015 y’all!

yes this photo is from 2015, note the cell phone case

Today I thought I would bring you a list of the things I am currently loving. I do not know why this topic stopped being “a thing” so I am bringing it back. Hope that’s alright.

Arizona Big Buckle Birkenstocks

I got these Birkenstocks a couple years ago at Nordstrom. I havethis persistent pain in my back and a physical therapist friend recommended shoes with better support. I liked them because of the larger sized, shiny gold buckle. SO much more bougie than the regular old Birks. I feel like these shoes represent me perfectly and it shows! I wear them every single day.

Vedic Botanicals Alk-Align Toning Mist

This alkaline toning mist from Vedic Botanicals has been amazing on these 100 degree days! I keep it in the fridge and spray my face anytime I need some cooling off. The Kamogawa blend is especially good for uneven skin tone.

Vedic Botanicals NouRiche Hair Serum

You guys already know about my hair loss story and the journey back to full, sumptuous locks. This stuff has been amazing when applied directly to my scalp. And since the whole brand is vegan and uses very high-quality ingredients like coconut and argan oil, I feel good about doing it!

The team at Vedic Botanicals sent a few other products my way and I am delighted to try them all out!

A Wax Warmer and Wax Melts

It is no secret that I love me a good scented candle. Give me BBW Marshmallow Fireside any day of the week! But I have a toddler. A super curious one. Of course I always put the candles out of reach, but these days she is such a climber and I would rather be safe than sorry. PLUS, I have been reading about the soot that fills the air with candles and how they can stain your walls. That is when I decided to nab this wax warmer at Goodwill the other day for $4. It is from the brand Scentsy (it is called the Windsor warmer) and was brand-spanking new! Gotta love Goodwill!

I have been trying a bunch of different wax melts out (all from Wal Mart) and these are my favorites so far:

Pink Sands by Yankee Candle is AMAZING you guys!

Humble Flower Mini Relief Balm

So apparently I am an old lady because my knees audibly CREEK when I bend down and stand up. Poor Clara looks at me like “what was THAT noise?” and I just have to explain she has a geriatric mother with old-lady veiny hands and creeky-ass joints.

I digress.

This relief balm from Humble Flower is SO good! I was not a believer of any CBD products until I tried this. I rub it into my knees and “my hump” which is basically a persistent muscle pain I get in my back. It feels amazing, smells great and always provides some relief. It is a keeper!

Goodwill and Yard Sales

I do not need to explain this one much – just feast yer eyes on these finds!

Bird prints from Goodwill – $20 (originally from Z Gallerie)

This cool gold bust from an estate sale – $5

These cool vintage birds at a yard sale – $4 for a set of 2!

And lastly, but certainly not least..

Biscoff Cookies

If you have never tried these little gems, run don’t walk to the grocery and pick some up! If you are lucky, you will even happen upon some Biscoff Cookie Butter which to me, is better than the popular Trader Joes Speculoos. I have been eating these non-stop as they are the perfect size, flavor and texture. Added bonus:  you get to feel very European and chic while eating them.

My Non-Beauty Favorites

Hear ye! Hear ye!

I see SO many “Amazon Favorites” lists flying around the internet I thought it was high time I make my own. But it should be noted that I do not buy everything on Amazon. I get things at other fine establishments like Target, Goodwill, TJ  Maxx, Ross and as much as it pains me to say…Walmart.

These are things that make my life better. That make my days run smoother and my nights more wine-filled.

Black & Decker Handheld Vacuum

Because what mom doesn’t need a good old fashioned dust buster in her life? I use this baby about 723094 times a day. Giant hat tip to my sister Megan for recommending this baby. Here are my favorite applications:

  • Cleaning up the food remnants beneath Clara
  • Removing the copious amounts of hair from the bathroom floors, counters and inside drawers
  • Getting allll the pine needles off the ground in the entry way
  • Sucking up all the loose setting powder I spill on my vanity err day

Liberty Creek Pinot Gris

Can’t say I am super proud of this one guys. But I am nothing if I am not honest. And this white wine…is gooood. Is it great? Probably not. Would it satisfy an individual with a sophisticated palette? Nope. Am I going to buy it forever because it costs $7 for 1.5 liters? Yep. I have got my whole family drinking Lib Creek and WE AINT MAD AT IT.

Walmart Rain Jacket

Calling all the amazons! My sister Megan gave me this coat for Christmas and it has easily become my new favorite. It has the perfect amount of lining, is the perfect length, comes in like 5 cute colors and best of all – ACTUALLY FITS ME. Well, actually – It has those little sleeve extenders with the thumb  holes which makes the sleeves extra long. On a normal person, they would extend beyond the knuckles and allow the person to utilize the aforementioned thumb holes. On me, it reaches my wrists, which means I cannot utilize the thumb holes. But I don’t like thumb holes anyway so it’s a win win! I just ordered a second one in black :).

Warby Parker Glasses

Warby Parker Eugene Women’s Frames in Tea Rose Fade

Warby Parker Durand Women’s Frames in Rose Water

Totally not spons’d by Warby. I just love me a good purr of $95 glasses! My insurance covers the standard $150 frame allowance and if you have shopped at your local optometrist’s office you know – the frames start at like $300! The frames at Warby Parker are cute, the selection is great, and best of all – it is SO EASY. Portland has a Warby Parker location (lucky us!) and there are no appointments. Just walk in, try on frames to your heart’s delight and when you’re ready just let them know. Hand over your prescription, they take some quick measurements and you get the glasses like 7-10 days later in the mail. I LOVE THEM.

“Clara” Nameplate Necklace

It is no state secret that I am obsessed with my kid. I am one of THOSE people. And when I am not with her, I am a little sad. For my birthday, my husband had this necklace made for me from my FAVORITE local establishment, Roger and Ives (seriously if you’re in the Portland area you MUST check this place out).  I probably wear this necklace everyday. I love it so much. I love that David got it for me. It makes me feel like Clara is always with me. I am now tearing up.

Oster Cordless Electric Wine Opener

I hate to add yet another kitchen gadget to the ol’ counter top. And believe me, counter space at our house is highly coveted due to the lack of it. This little gent however, will always claim a spot. It is hands down, the wisest purchase I have ever made. It opens a bottle of wine in less than 10 seconds and takes ZERO effort. Both my sister and my mom now have one and it also comes with a very handy foil cutter. Do yourself a favor and spend the $17 on this.

Bath and Body Works Candles, Soaps and Wallflowers

My home may not be perfect. There are crumbs, floors that need sweeping and surfaces that need cleaning – but one thing I know for sure my home is NOT… smelly. I am big on smells. It is the first thing I notice when I walk into a space. And when I walk into mine, I want it to smell like there are cookies baking, or tulips blooming or tiny fairies that smell like Gain are prancing across the furniture. BBW is a pioneer in the home-fragrance department and if you don’t burn a Marshmallow Fireside candle during the holidays, is it even Christmas? FIGHT ME.

Some of my favorite scents from Bath and Body Works include OF COURSE Marshmallow Fireside, Tiki Beach, Summer Boardwalk, In the Stars and Pink Petal Teacake.

Those are the non-beauty favorites for now! It really was hard to think of items I love that are not somehow loosely beauty-related…because really, are those NOT the most life-changing?

Current Beauty Favorites: Pregnant Addition

Gross I used the p-word.

I feel this topic warranted a blog post for a myriad of reasons. First, there is the fact that nothing is harder than caring about the way you look when you feel like sh*t. You just want to do the bare minimum and be able to walk out the door. (I am thinking that this is going to be a predecessor for my style once the baby comes…).Second,  there’s the fact that I am obsessed with beauty products anyway. And third, nobody welcomes stretch marks.

Some of these items are new purchases, for the aid of being with-child while others are items I’ve had and simply make sense to use at this juncture of life.

Kopari Coconut Melt

When I saw this product launch at Sephora, I was intrigued. Cute packaging, COCONUT, what’s not to love? Then I discovered it was basically just coconut oil, which I already own a large jar of from Trader Joes. So I thought nothing of it until I was shopping at Ross about a month ago and I saw a FULL-SIZED jar of it for only $12.99! It retails at $28.

I bought it and threw it under my bathroom counter in the ol’ stock pile. Then I started growing a baby and realized my stomach would probably be expanding :(. So I busted out the Kopari and read the back of the box:

Turns out it is recommended for the tummy! So I started using ‘er and oh my laww is this stuff good. My skin is SO much softer since I started using it and the little spatula is not only super cute but also handy! I put this everywhere, including my face and hair and it makes things SO easy. Plus, the light coconutty scent makes me so happy.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray w/Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender

The old wives tale about a girl stealing your beauty is true in my case. From about 9 weeks in, I started developing bumps on my forehead. Not necessarily acne but just bumpy, uneven texture up there. Since then, I have definitely experienced small breakouts and on parts of my face where I have never had issues before. While this product does nothing to cure acne, it feels AMAZINGLY refreshing on my skin and sometimes I like to spray it REALLLY  close to the bump to achieve the maximum desired effect.

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo

Not only has the skin on my face been affected by this little bugger, but also the skin on my head. As I mentioned here, I used to be able to go days upon days before washing my hair. Now, I can barely make it to every other day. David had purchased the Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner a while back and I decided to give it a whirl one night. Well now I am addicted. It feels SO amazing on the scalp and literally clears out my sinuses. It has a cooling sensation which has been so welcome during these summer months and I just cannot get enough.

Lush Body Conditioner

Ever since I started using this product years ago, I knew it would be genius for a pregnant lady. I currently have a small tub of the Snow Fairy scent and I rub it all over my mid-section and hips. I feel like the added moisture is just so hydrating on my skin and will help prevent stretch marks. When I was super nauseous, I’ll admit the smell did make me kinda sick (it’s a super-sweet, candy scent) but now that I am out of that phase I am back to loving it.

Oral B Electric Toothbrush

I went to the dentist right after I found out I was pregnant and the hygienist went on and on about how teeth cleaning is so important while pregnant. I kinda wrote it off until a couple more people mentioned it to me, saying they got lots more cavities while pregnant. I get  lots of cavities as it is, and could really stand to do without more. So on Amazon Prime day, David and I bit the bullet and bought expensive electric toothbrushes. I used mine for the first time last night and MAN OH MAN do my teeth feel clean. I am also slightly dizzy from the thing rattling my brain but you know, trade offs.

That is it so far. What are/were some of your favorites while P? Let me know!

My 2017 Favorites!

I’m a little late to the game on posting these but sometimes a girl needs a few days  a month to figure out her sh*t. I know you guys get it.

So. In no certain order, here are my favorite products from last year!

MAKEUP

Foundation

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer

This two-year winner takes the cake for a menagerie of reasons. It covers well, lasts long, looks natural and is priced reasonably.

Concealer

Tarte Shape Tape

It’s true, everyone and their dog loves this concealer. Because it is perfection.

Powder

Benefit Hello Flawless Powder Foundation

I fully realize that the reason I love this powder so much is because it is also a friggen’ foundation and therefore, the coverage is insane. But I don’t care and neither should you. This powder is velvety soft, beautiful on the skin and makes me feel airbrushed.

Bronzer

Benefit Hoola

Oh Hoola, I can’t quit you. I’ve tried so many bronzers and contour shades and Hoola remains always in my line-up. always on my cheekbones and forever in my heart.

Blush

Milani Baked Blush in Rose D’Oro

Where in the F has everyone been  on discovering this underrated color from Milani? Sure, we’ve all sung the praises of Luminoso but this color is absolutely stunning as well. I wore non-stop last year.

Highlighter

Revolution Blushing Hearts Highlighter in Goddess of Faith

I realize as I am typing this that this is the first time I have EVER spoke of this product. I am shooketh. This is hands down, 10 out of 10 the BEST HIGHLIGHT I have ever used. And it is from the DRUGSTORE. And it is heart-shaped. It is perfect on my pale skin, boasting a gorgeous icy champagne hue that is so extra I can hardly contain myself. Hat tip to sister Megan for discovering this gem.

Setting Spray

Milani Make it Last Setting Spray

Although the mister on this thing isn’t my favorite (FAR too much product is centrally distributed), the effects are great. YES it contains alcohol but if it goes in my mouth, why can’t it go on my face? TWSS.

Eyeshadow

Stila Magificent Metals in Diamond Dust

Why do I not own every shade of this product? WHY? I give SO many props to Stila for inventing thee most practical way to apply intense glitter.

Pencil Eyeliner

Too Faced Perfect Eyes Eyeliner

This liner is super creamy so take that as you may. I love how richly pigmented and black it is and being that I am not oily, I have no issues with smearing.

Mascara

TIE! Between Covergirl’s The Super Sizer and Total Tease

The one characteristic these two miracle-workers posses is their ability to separate and be buildable at the same time. If you’re a person who enjoys over 3 coats of mascara, then run out and buy these then come back here and thank me ;).

Lashes

H&M Lashes

Go figure, these .99 cent lashes on closeout from H&M have been easily my favorite of the year. I have worn them multiple times and I cannot get enough of the super thin and flexible band, the natural clumpiness and realistic curl. Here’s what they look like on me:

Lipstick

Mac Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup

You guys saw this one coming 782378435 feet away. This color is just perfect on me and it just so happens to come in my favorite finish AND it’s Mac so it has the vanilla scent. I just feel more myself wearing this, ya feel me?

Lipgloss

Buxom Full-On Lip Creme in Bellini

I cannot recommend any of the Buxom glosses enough. They provide a lil’ plump and a healthy dose of color. What’s not to love?

Lipbalm

Brazilian Kiss Cupuacu Lip Butter by Sol de Janeiro

I know this is good because when I wear it to bed David always says I smell good :). It is super moisturizing and also a jumbo size.

AND of course, Treat Beauty Jumbo Lip Balm in Confetti Cake

These jumbo lip balms are the best! All natural, come in THEE BEST flavors, jumbo sized AND from Portland Oregon!? What more could you want?

Tools

Flower Beauty Makeup Sponge

As I said in this post, this has to be the softest, most bouncy-soft makeup sponge on the market. You can get yours at Wal-Mart for $9 or pay over $20 at Sephora for a Beauty Blender. CHOICE IS YOURS!

HAIRCARE

Shampoo +  Conditioner

Davines is where it’s at y’all. I have  thoroughly enjoyed each and every product from this brand. My stylist uses Davines color on me as well. The whole brand is great and I highly recommend!

Dry Shampoo

Batiste!

Absolutely nothing beats this dry shampoo and I have tried a few (RHYMING!). Yes it leaves a white-cast but I like me a white-cast! How else do you know it’s working?! The tropical scent is my favorite because it smells like coconuts.

Other Hair Products

Davines Oi Oil

Here’s Davines again! This smells amaaaazing and I love to use it on my ends.

Davines MELU Hair Shield

I love how lightweight this spray is. It smells nice and provides the best protection for my hair.

BODYCARE

Lotion

CerVe Renewing SA Lotion

As you might have read about in this post, I have KP (keratosis pilaris). This lotion was recently recommended to me by my dermatologist and I do really like it. Being the winter time, I have not had to be as diligent about putting it on everyday but I do apply it to the affected areas after bathing. It uses salycilic acid to exfoliate and break down the keratin around the hair follicle.

Brazilian Kiss Body Mist by Sol De Janeiro

(in this set)

This body spray smells like everything I want to be. That should tell you all you need to know.

Dr. Teals Epsom Salts

Call me old fashioned but I love me a good ol’ epsom salt bath to cure what ails me. So great for sore muscles and the Dr.Teals brand has so many scents to choose from. I have tried nearly every one and haven’t found a dud yet!

And that wraps it up folks! What are YOUR favorites from 2017??

My 2016 Favorites

Per usual, I’m a bit late to the party with my fave things from 2016 but hey, at least I showed up!

Makeup

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer

image

I used this foundation for most of 2016 and for good reason. The coverage is really great with a pretty small amount and it lasts very nicely. I found that it applies best with a buffing brush rather than a beauty blender and doesn’t require a whole lot of setting. Also, the price is right at under $30.

Maybelline Better Skin Concealer

download (1)

For a drugstore concealer, this one takes the cake for me. Due to my transparent skin and vitamin-deficient diet, my under eyes require a hefty dose of concealing on the daily. As such, I tend to go through concealers quite frequently. If my wallet allowed, I would go to town with Nars Radiant Creamy or Tarte Shape Tape (which I really MUST get my hands on), but for under 9 bucks a pop, this concealer works juuuust fine.

Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder

image

This is the perfect under-eye setting powder. It is SUPER finely milled and (as the name suggests) is very brightening. Do not be alarmed by the white color of this powder when freshly applied, as it blends away like a dream!

Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer

image

This bronzer is seriously BEAUTIFUL. The color is perfect on me and it blends wonderfully. On top of that, it smells cuh-razy good. As in, I want my whole body to smell like it. And it’s from the drugstore so win-win!

Marc Jacobs Shameless Bold Blush in Obsessed

image

This color is just perfect. It is described on the site as a “warm pink” and I find that to be pretty accurate but sometimes it even leans on the peach side. Great formula. Long-lasting. Good stuff.

Wet’n’Wild Mega Glo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals (on the right)

image

image

This limited edish highlight sent me on quite the wild goose chase (read about that here) but was totally worth it in the end! I would describe the color as a slightly pink-champagne. It is completely gorgeous, on par with other $40 highlighters and costs under $4. SUCH a find!

Covergirl Supersizer Mascara

image

For the second year in a row, this mascara has captured my heart. While it can be a little B to remove completely (try micellar water!), one cannot deny it’s separating and lengthening effects. I love to combine it with the L’Oreal Carbon Black Voluminous Mascara which is another front-runner in the drugstore mascara race.

Stila Stay All Day Water Proof Liquid Eyeliner

image

If you are looking for the easiest, most richly pigmented waterproof liquid liner – LOOK NO FURTHER. This eyeliner has beat out so many others for me. As the name suggests, it does in fact stay all day, is super black and VERY easy to apply.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate Moss Lipstick in Rock N Roll Nude

image

image

This is the perfect shade of lipstick for me. Similar to my ride-or-die Mac Creme Cup, this color is lovely for every day. I can throw it on without thinking and it compliments any eye look perfectly. I also like the smell of these Rimmel lipsticks!

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian

image

This gloss is perfect on it’s own or over any nude or pink lipstick. It gives that “wet” look without any glitter or shimmer and it has a slight plumping effect which I personally enjoy. I really could purchase SO many colors from this line.

Treat Beauty Jumbo Lip Balm in Confetti Cake

image

I have raved about this lip balm since I purchased it 6 months ago. It is by FAR my favorite lip balm and I love that it is in the jumbo size. The first ingredient in this stuff is organic coconut oil so I also use this under my eyes for a quick moisture boost whenever I need it!

iBeauty 21 Brush

image

I found this Artis-style brush at TJ Maxx for $7.99 and wasn’t sure how I would like it. Wellll, I don’t like it. I LOVE IT. It applies most foundations super duper smooth and even. Plus, it is a fun design. What’s not to love?

BODYCARE + MISC

Dermadoctor KP Duty Lotion

image

This stuff aint cheap but I can confirm it DOES work on the keratosis pilaris on my legs. It is the best treatment lotion I have used and doesn’t leave a chalky feel afterwards like the prescription lotions can.

Castor Oil

hrp-22104-2

So I have reallllly enjoyed owning this bottle of Castor Oil. First off, it is what I run through my eyelashes every night to help with growth, thickness and to keep them conditioned. Secondly, during these cold as tits winter months, I tend to rub this all over my hands, feet, knees and elbows at night time for added hydration. It doesn’t have a weird scent, costs next to nothing and works wonders. I love this stuff.

Sephora Gradual Self-Tanning Face Water

image

It makes me sad to look at this stuff and then realize the pasty ghost I’ve allowed myself to become RN. Anyway, this stuff reallly works in the best way possible. I, for one enjoy a nice healthy glow and this product delivers flawlessly. I will apply this with a cotton pad for maybe 3 days in a row to build up a nice, subtle glow and then keep using every 1-2 days to maintain.

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Vacation Time

image

image

I have painted my nails this color probably 4-5 times in 2016. Says alot.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

image

DO NOT overlook the Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Tropical scent. It smells like coconuts and makes you feel like you are a Roxy model.

Rose Jam EVERYTHING

image

But mostly, the Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner which I have talked about over and over again. It is the best product probably ever invented by anyone. Ever.

My Summer Favorites

Hey girl heyyyy.

image

NBD just my natural lashes

It’s been just ages since I wrote down my monthly faves so I figured I’d just bundle it all up into summer. And… HERE THEY ARE. Also, as a side note: I auditioned for a community show choir and I got in. YES. I am a 31-year-old woman who thinks she is on Glee.

 Meekups

Covergirl Super Sizer Mascara

Screen_Shot_2015-04-14_at_3.50.20_PM.png.750x750_q85

I know I have made some pretty hefty claims about certain drugstore mascaras bein’ the bees knees but this one seriously takes the cake. And the macaron, too. This mascara is super black, it is lengthening, separating and creates beautiful definition.  It also holds a curl. I will be hoarding this stuff in case they discontinue but I hope they nevvvvver do.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop

image

I LITerally have people stop me at work to tell me I look like I am glowing. I just freaking radiate when I wear this and I KNOW IT. It is hands down, the most beautiful highlighter I own and probs in existence. The texture is like nothing I have ever felt – sooooo buttery soft and creamy. This, my friends, is a show-stopper and completely worth the hefty $38 price tag.

Covergirl Shimmering Sands Eyeshadow Trio

download

I have been reaching for this eyeshadow trio all summer long and NO JOKE have worn this exact trio since high school (shoutout to my homegirl Lacey because she was the one who discovered it!). The colors are absolutely perfect together and the light pink shade is so lovely in the inner corner. They blend awesome together and are really pigmented – not bad for $5!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

photo (17)

I have hit SERIOUS pan on this stuff and for darn good reason. This is just such a great contour shade for us pale girls. The perfect balance of bronze mixed with a dash of shadowy taupe. I love it.

Hair/Beauty

Dessange Color Correcting Creme

20150314-110004.jpg

My hair was such an atrocity this summer. I got some color in that just doesn’t jive with me and then I tried to fix it with a few streaks from an at-home kit. I have been using the treatment on the right (pictured above) to combat my serious case of the brassies and lemme tell ya – this goop delivers some INTENSE purple. It looks like paint. I apply it all over my head and let it sit for about 10 minutes. When I rinse, the water runs purple for about 5 straight minutes but I love how much it helps brighten-up the blonde.

Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose Eau De Toilette

atlas-mountain-rose-edt_l

I nabbed this at Marshalls a while back and have fallen in love with it. The smell is def very rosy but since I enjoy the same things as 87-year-olds,  it smells great to me. Also, a random thing I love about this product is the way it mists out of the bottle. It is such a wonderfully fine, wide mist and I love it so much.

Benefit Bathina Body Oil Mist

image1xxl

I’ve had this for over a year and have just now grown obsessed. After a shower and a fresh shave, I spray a little of this on (maybe 3 sprays per leg) and it smells soooooooooo good and makes me feel so opulent and bourgeois. My skin feels amazing but definitely NOT oily. It is a very tough feeling to describe and it may not be for everyone but I am just addicted!

Randoms

CHIPOTLE

images

I have been obsessed with Chipotle for awhile now. I’d say since I moved to Portland, although I def had it in Redmond too. What I cannot get enough of, is their GD salty, limey chips. It’s like crack for basic white girls. Everyone loves this place because you can be all, “I am totes healthy because Chipotle is like fresh and sh*t.” But really, if everyone found out it had like 922345234 calories per bite everyone would STILL eat there.

The Walking Dead

TV STILL — DO NOT PURGE — Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes and Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon – The Walking Dead _ Season 5, Gallery – Photo Credit: Frank Ockenfels 3/AMC

I pretty much love Daryl. Alot. Also, Michonne is quite the awesome badass. I just finished Season 5 and am now moving onto Fear the Walking Dead. Gahhh! RIIIICK!

Saying “you guys” when only talking to one other person

I implore you to try this the next time you are one-on-one with someone. Like if you’re at H&M with your friend and you say, “Oh my God you guys this skirt is only 13 bucks!” Its funny because it’s just her and shows how excited you are. Right!?

Ok that’s it. What are y’all loving lately?
